Make the production sequence visible

Understand the stages, the dependencies and the points that need clarification before the next activity.

THE QUESTIONS TO KEEP

  1. What depends on an earlier stage?
  2. What information is missing?
  3. Who approves a changed sequence?
Take a question to your working note
01

The learning question

Map the stages of an authorised learning task and the dependencies between them. The purpose is to understand what must be ready before the next stage begins, not to invent a production specification.

02

The complete context

Keep the complete method and the responsible educator’s instructions attached to the map. Record where the sequence needs clarification before attempting to improve it.

03

A record worth discussing

A sequence map can reveal a dependency without authorising a change to the method. Name the complete reference and the stage you are considering. When a task involves other people or shared equipment, keep the agreed learning scope visible. Leave the actual operating arrangements and approval of changes with the responsible person.
